This work is an integral part of the homeopath’s practice, but it can be time‑consuming and depends on each practitioner’s familiarity with the structure of the consulted work.

Two ways to approach the same case
The principle of the tool can be summed up in one sentence:
You describe your case once, then you can approach it in two ways.
- By the materia medica : the tool offers you remedy sheets that seem to correspond to the tableau you describe.
- By the repertory : the tool identifies the Boger headings corresponding to the elements of your observation and builds a repertorisation.
These two approaches are not redundant. They correspond to two complementary steps of homeopathic reasoning.
The repertory reduces the field of possibilities, while the materia medica allows confronting and differentiating the remedies.
The two paths can thus confirm or contradict each other, and it is precisely this confrontation that is interesting.
Direct search: from case to remedy sheets
It is probably the most immediate feature of Homeoco Expert.
You enter your case: the clinical description, in your own words, and the engine offers you six synthetic remedy sheets that seem to correspond to the described tableau.
Thus it is not a single answer but a range of six leads to read, compare and confront.
The number is deliberately limited.
A single remedy would constitute an overly closed answer, whereas a list of several dozen remedies would be difficult to use in consultation.
Six sheets provide a set large enough to bring forth candidates you might not have thought of, while remaining sufficiently narrow to allow a genuine comparison.
The verb matters: the proposed remedies seem to correspond to what you described.
It is a documentary matching between your observation and the content of the materia medica, not a diagnosis.
The practitioner remains free to keep a lead, discard it, or go verify it directly with the authors.
Materia medica sheets comparable side by side
The six proposed sheets are not simple extracts of source texts displayed one after another.
The sheets are syntheses generated by AI from the texts of Boericke, Clarke and Boger.
These three authors present different approaches and levels of detail. Homeoco Expert renders their contents in a homogeneous structure, to facilitate comparison.
Concretely, several remedies can be displayed side by side and read heading by heading.
The differential between two close remedies thus becomes more easily readable, without having to reconstruct it mentally from texts of differing length and organization.
Direct search therefore does not simply offer you six names, but six tables that you can compare in parallel.
Two clarifications are important:
- The proposed sheets are syntheses and not the full source texts. They allow comparison and orientation, but do not replace reading the authors.
- The access to full translated sources is forthcoming. This feature is currently under development.
Two ways to approach the Boger repertory
The repertory currently available in Homeoco Expert is the Boger (Synoptic Key of the Materia Medica).
Two access modes are offered, corresponding to two different situations.
1. Classic search in the repertory
You search for a specific heading and directly consult the remedies listed there.
This is the usual functioning of a repertory, with the ease of access offered by digital: no paging, the searched heading is directly accessible.
This mode remains particularly useful when you know exactly what you want to verify: a valuation, the presence of a remedy, or the content of a given heading.
2. Automatic search of headings from the case
This second approach no longer starts from a heading, but from the entirety of your observation.
Automatic detection of headings: starting from the whole case
In a classic repertorisation, the work is generally sequential: you isolate a symptom, search for the corresponding heading, note the remedies, then move to the next symptom before cross‑checking the results.
Homeoco Expert starts from the whole case.
You enter or paste your complete clinical description.
The tool then identifies the repertorable elements and proposes the Boger headings corresponding to your observation, before building the repertorisation from them.
The interest does not lie solely in the time saved during heading search.
The case is approached as a whole: certain elements present in your description, which you might not have thought to assign a specific heading to, can thus be taken into account.
The translation step between the patient’s formulation and the repertory’s vocabulary is also facilitated.
The proposed headings indeed come from the Boger repertory, with its own granularity and hierarchy.
This clarification is important: from one repertory to another, the division of headings and the valuations may differ. The practitioner must therefore know precisely which author they are working with.
Boericke, then Kent, are planned.
The interactive table: a repertorisation you can take over
The result of the repertorisation is presented as an interactive table.
This format allows visualising the retained headings as well as the remedies that emerge from them.
You thus have access not only to the result, but also to the elements that made it possible.
The goal is not simply to know "which remedy comes first", but to be able to ask:
« On which headings does this remedy appear? Do these headings truly correspond to the core of the case? »
The repertorisation thus remains a reflection tool that the practitioner can analyse and discuss.
Writing assistance: ten guided questions
Homeoco Expert also offers an optional writing‑assistance feature, built around ten guided questions.
It can be used when you have the clinical material but wish to structure your observation more easily before exploiting it.
The pathway helps you organise the different elements of the case to obtain an exploitable observation, which can then serve both direct search in the materia medica and repertorisation.
If your observation is already written, you can of course paste it directly into the tool and skip this step.
Under development: semantic search
The semantic search is part of the features currently under development.
Its goal: to allow querying the documentary corpus by the meaning of a free formulation, rather than only by the exact title of a heading.
The work notably focuses on the ability to establish a relevant matching between a complaint expressed in everyday language and the vocabulary used in the historical works of materia medica and repertory.
This feature is currently being developed on Boger as well as on the other databases that will complement Homeoco Expert.

Selection, validation and prescription remain entirely the practitioner’s responsibility.
